Though while I understand why the Game Server went down, why the hell would forums have to be down all day and all night long yesterday. Time to put this on a completely different server then the game servers so we can be informed of your progress. Launched the Client from the Bin EXE and it says Server Tranq, Status Checking Status 0 players. Can we get an ETA please. Thanks. See this is what happens when you try to fix things that were not broken in the first place. Seems like all this happened once Logging in went to the Launcher VS the Client. They took all their servers offline because of a DDoS attack. DDoS attacks are made against web/IP addresses. The same addresses that are used for the game servers are also used for the web servers and everything else that CCP has online in regards to EVE and DUST. Taking all the servers offline was the right and correct thing to do, it's fairly common protocol for any network sustaining a DDoS attack. If you don't give them something to shoot at, they can't hit anything. EVE used Twitter and Facebook instead to update customers, being that these servers are not CCP and were not sustaining a DDoS attack, this also made sense. |

If you're going to succeed in this universe then EVE literally becomes a part of you. Oh sure I get frustrated with changes and complain from time to time like everyone else, but when this thing that has become such a part of our abstract reality is physically threatened - I was genuinely worried for the ole' gurl. I followed every tweet and server twitch with all the angst of an expectant father. Thanks to all the CCP employees who worked to ensure that our gaming experience will continue safely and securely. It could have been worse. No one should be asking for free sp. You don't reward terrorism with cookies. But I wouldn't be upset to learn that the Odyssey release is being delayed for however many hours the servers were down. Many folks (myself included) were on timetables to complete goals just prior to the launch. I also think locking every post discussing this historical event in GD is bad PR. This was a universal experience. There will be hundreds of those topics. Probably should relax the rules for a day and let people post-disaster vent/complain/beg/compliment as needed. Glad to be back. Good work CCP. YK Finally someone who's using that bit of braincells in his head.Well spoken yonis. I do agree thought that it would be best not to deploy odyssey tomorrow but delay it a week.Just so that people who have not been able to log in have some more time to do so.Otherwise the ''WHEEEELP i lost a few SP , damn you CCP'' cries will only become bigger. We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. |

Lesser companies, such as Blizzard, will try to work through it while having the game running and players have a terrible time doing anything. On top of that, they would have people play with almost no security and not even let the players know about it. This happened with SWTOR(was kind of funny). At least CCP takes the time to be thorough and FIX the problem. Out of all the years I've played this game, this is the third time EVER that I've had any issue with the game. I don't know about the rest of you, but that's a pretty damn good track record. It's not like it's their job or anything, gee fanboys are obnoxious. No need to hate. |

No it shows that they have no idea on ETA. When they give eta's people like you start complaining that they are an hour behind on their eta .......... Some man you just can not please . If one day of eveless life is that important to you i'd advice to not log in today and have a close re-evalutaion of your life. I am retired and am set for life. I can do whatever I like regardless of what any low iq Eve fan bois have to say. |

EVE Online's CCP has confirmed both the outage and the attack, the Escapist is unreachable at the moment, and Minecraft creator Notch says that things were down, but supposedly service has been restored. LulzSec hasn't shared a reason for the attacks just yet, but we can only guess it's, as they say, "for teh lulz." Update: The group has gone after Riot Games' League of Legends servers as well. Attempting to log in to the game gives a "server busy" message, though there's no official word from the company yet. lulzsec are nothing but griefers. kinda sucks when your the victim "all of the gamers of these games". kinda puts things in perspective. |

Got to be a stressful time in the CCP offices, doubly so with the new expeansion rollout. Seriously though CCP, please, no SP "compensation". Remember your roots. Sure, roll out +1 day on subs if need be (It's only $.50USD, no biggy if you don't). This one wasn't CCPs fault, there's no need to apologize, and if you aren't tagging a 10+ day skill at the end of your training queue, it's yer own damn fault. Remember the six P's, kids. Prior Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance. Applies to yo skillqueue too. this would have been an ideal time to roll out the new expansion while the servers were down, kill 2 birds with 1 stone nope, too many skill queues will run out, too many POS will run out of fuel, too many people on strict deadlines for training certain skills before tiericide will lose out. Maybe all of the above but they have had nearly 24 hours of downtime, plenty to install new patch |

My job is done as I payed for my accounts. But because I am a reasonable guy ( we all should be ), I don't blame them at all but a compensation is not absurd in these circumstances. |

You are totally. totally wrong... Because Annonymous attacked SOE's servers for legit reasons, their servers were off close to 2 months, SOE'S company lost over 200 milions in that time because of this and here are some facts why they did so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tm7UKo4IBc http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2011/04/04/anonymous-gets-serious-attacks-sony-employees/ |

I think it would be great if they did, but I am wondering how do you know that it hasn't been done? How do you know that the update hasn't been made? |

They have larger models now so no need to be limited to 12 oz cups. I personally am a fan of the Starbucks Sumatra K-cups myself...but than again I like dark roasts. Now I'm not saying your bosses should buy you one, but well your bosses should probably buy you one. Thanks for all your hard work. I have one of those and it's great. I just hate filling it ip all the damn time. They would need one with a filter line plugged into it. |
